What is Coaching?
Coaching is a way to help you reach your higher potential. I believe that you already hold the keys to this. My role is to help you unlock that potential.
Coaching is not psychotherapy.
Who Do I Work With?
I work with executives, leaders, and other professionals who are interested in personal and/or spiritual development. You don’t have to be “woo” to work with me. We might be a good fit if:
You want to be a better leader and bring out the best in others. You are willing to do the hard work of shifting your own habits, behaviors, and consciousness so that you can help others do so as well.
You are feeling burnt out or dissatisfied with your work. You are interested in taking better care of yourself. You want to discover a deeper purpose professionally or personally.
You seek to improve your relationships at work or at home. You are ready to take responsibility for the dynamics you unconsciously participate in.
You hope to develop or deepen your meditation practice. You want to commit to consistent practice.
You feel you are going through a “dark night of the soul” or “spiritual crisis” as it relates to meditation practice. This service is donation-based (pay what you can). I suggest checking out these resources as well.
My Approach
As I believe any great coach does, I do not tell you what to do. First, because I believe you hold more wisdom about yourself than I do. Second, because I know (and behavioral science confirms) that telling people what to do is often counterproductive.
I will of course share my knowledge and experiences to the degree that it serves your growth, but my goal is to help you be empowered and make wise decisions on your own. Coaches should turn themselves obsolete.
Together we clarify your core values (what’s most important to you in life) and goals, identify what’s getting the way, and work on skills and strategies to move you closer to your values and goals. You’ll have tangible homework between sessions—this is where all the magic happens.
What Prevents People From Making Change?
People don’t make behavior changes because:
A) They haven’t found the “why” behind change.
B) They haven’t resolved their ambivalence about making the change.
C) They don’t have a clear plan.
D) They don’t have support (this doesn’t need to be a coach - it could be another individual or group they trust).
D) They don’t believe they can change (they lack self-efficacy).
E) They get in their own way (e.g., perfectionism, afraid of failure or success).
We’ll tackle each of these together.
